My Take:

Similar to what I did for the Sweater Weather Series, for this review, I read the first four books so that I could get a general overview and feeling of this fall-themed series. And again, I’m going to review them as a group, because they are similar in theme and feel. In this series, the authors did not collaborate as much as in Sweater Weather, but they all have a common tie: The Coffee Loft. The Coffee Loft is a coffeehouse franchise and each book features one rather prominently either by having a main character working there, owning one, or it being a regular haunt for one of the main characters. But each book location could be anywhere: Colorado, southern Louisiana, and Lake Tahoe being three of the first locations. And each book has different tropes and tempos, with second chance, friends-to-lovers, and frenemies-to-more being three of the tropes I encountered, with many more coming in the later books.

This series is fun, light and sweet. But like the sweetened foam on the top of a pumpkin spice latte, it will disappear quickly and make you wish it had lasted longer. I am not sure about all of the upcoming books in the series, as they have not yet been released, but out of the four books that I read, the first two were novellas (one was even under 100 pages), one was on the shorter-book side, and the last was a regular book length. So I would venture a guess that in general, this series is going to continue that with sweet, short stories that won’t take you days to read, filled with the scent of coffee, the feel of fall, and a happily-ever-after ending. If a light, sweet, quick fall read is your thing, try this series out!

Side note: not all of the books in Season Two of The Coffee Loft Series have been released, but they are scheduled to be released one every couple of days through the end of October. If you don’t want to wait, they do have Season One of The Coffee Loft available already, as they came out last fall. Many of the same authors contributed to the first series as this current season, and they are also short, sweet, and clean.
