Welcome to Draewood Forest!

Said no one. Ever. At the heart of the Consortium lies a foreboding and treacherous forest. No one ventures near. No one except Eliza, a young social outcast who has always lacked a healthy respect for Draewood. Draewood and the monsters it hides call to her. When Eliza discovers she was born with hidden abilities, she flees her village with the help of an unlikely ally. But will her newfound abilities be enough to save her from the evil forces bent on causing her destruction?

Into Draewood is the first of a four-book YA Fantasy series, about a dying land where survival is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. The Consortium consists of four villages surrounding a deadly central forest, Draewood. Each has a separate resource – farming, mining, lumber, and fishing – requiring them to work together to thrive. As spring comes later, winter sooner, and crops fail, survival becomes a harder task. Join Eliza as she discovers the secrets of Draewood, the village council, and even herself as she tries to endure life in Rosewood village.

Susan has lived with Eliza, the protagonist of The Draewood Series, running around in her head for over 10 years. Eliza is stubborn and persistent, challenging Susan whenever she isn’t telling the story right! Many twists and turns have resulted from Eliza screaming “No! That’s not how it happened!” interrupting Susan’s well thought out plan. Into Draewood is due to be released this year, much to the relief of both Susan and Eliza. If you like the Grishaverse, Lone City Trilogy, with hints of Hunger Games and Divergent, then you are sure to love this series.
