Meet Susan

Picture of Susan Dobis

Susan Dobis is the author of The Draewood Series, an upcoming four-book Young Adult Fantasy series. She is an artist, illustrator, and writer who has published two animated children’s books with Interactive Touch Books, written short stories and has designed game worlds. She is well on her way to publishing her first full-length novel, Into Draewood!

An avid reader, Susan has read countless books across most genres, though Fantasy is the black hole that keeps pulling her in. One of her pet peeves is to start a book, especially after enduring an agonizingly long library waitlist, only to be surprised by content she would rather not read. Giving other readers a heads-up on such content is the purpose of her blog, The Final Drip.

When she’s not writing, reading, or reading about writing, Susan loves to be outdoors. Her favorite pastime is hiking through the magnificent forests in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and tending her gardens full of roses, lilies, and fruit.

To learn more and journey Into Draewood yourself, join Susan’s newsletter and follow her on Facebook and Twitter (X)or reach out to her on her contact page.

Meet Crystal

Headshot Crystal Cabic

Crystal Cabic has been an avid reader since she was young, leading her parents to use a very personalized approach to discipline on the rare occasions she found herself in trouble. She was grounded from reading! What a horrible punishment! Her love of reading continued to grow as she earned a bachelor’s degree in art and a master’s degree in education. She shared this love of reading as an adventurous teacher in countries all around the globe, eventually becoming a modern nomad (AKA a military spouse). While homeschooling her two kiddos and navigating the normal distractions called “life”, she still finds time to do her favorite things: spending time with her family, exploring nature, and having adventures outdoors and in the pages of a book.

As far as books go, she’s always up for another read as a beta reader, ARC reader, or for book reviews. She’ll quickly read just about any genre, length, or theme. With a long and wide history of reading and rather varied personal experiences, she can give insight into your work at any stage: rough or polished, finished or not. Feel free to contact her!
